The Technology
Easily Configurable and Scalable SmartList™ applications can be configured for a wide variety of uses and are scalable to accommodate vast amounts of data and usage. They may be used on either the Internet or a local network. Although the Web sites and the Visual Catalog are designed to augment one another, they may be employed separately. Broad range of uses The Visual Catalog may be deployed on its own for virtually any product or service where the use of images is advantageous, from art or automobiles to Personals or independent escort listings. Listing access can be open to anyone or limited to certain individuals and can be password and/or fee based. The Catalog could also be configured as either an Internet or Intranet collectible “registry,” an organization’s information/image center or as an educational resource (i.e., info and images of animals, retrievable by species, sub-species, varieties, etc., or coins by type, date, grade, metal, etc.). The Search function allows data mining within or across all categories or attributes. For instance, a search of a coin database for all dollar coins could be limited to just those made of gold and in a specific grade. Conversely, the Web sites could be utilized in any situation requiring sort-able listings of items where images are not necessary. In both cases, additional categories, attributes and values may be added at any time, allowing the Operator to modify the program as subscriber needs dictate. Image “Magic” When a user sends an image to his SmartList™ Web site or Visual Catalog, ROKO’s proprietary image modification process automatically sizes the image to a uniform width and a non-specific height without reducing the quality or adding distortion. This innovation lets merchants store images on our servers that load quickly under any connection speed and can be viewed at any resolution, including low-resolution Web TV. This allows for virtually unlimited storage of images that can be shared with SmartList™ Web sites and online auctions. ROKO’s
image tools allow for the dynamic manipulation of images in most popular
formats including TIFF, JPEG, PNG, PDF, PhotoCD and GIF. We can offer users
the ability to automatically resize, rotate, sharpen, color reduce or add
special effects to an image and convert it to a different format. In
addition, ROKO’s image manipulation tools can be used to automatically create
a montage of image thumbnails, turn a group of images into an animated GIF
sequence or create a composite image from several different images. |
